Good to know

  • The annual road-use charge uses the daily rates in the regulation on the annual charge for 365 days: by engine size for a car with an engine, by maximum permitted mass for an electric car.
  • The administrative fee for renewing the registration is €7.30, or half when renewed online. The registration office's service fee isn't set by law; the amount shown is from the TSC LABA price list (February 2026).
  • A technical inspection for a car costs €38.28. The first is in the 4th year after first registration, then every 2 years up to 8 years, then every year; the calculator spreads it into an average yearly amount.
  • Fuel prices are the regulated prices off the motorways from 20 October 2026. An annual vignette for a car costs €117.50.
  • The calculator doesn't include depreciation or financing costs.
