Before you sign, we check it.
An independent inspection of a used car at the seller's location. You get a written report with photos and estimated repair costs the same day.
We don't repair cars or sell parts, so our assessment is independent.
From listing to decision in one day.
You choose the car, we check whether it's as described in the listing.
Send us the listing
The link to the listing and where the car is. We arrange the time with the seller.
We inspect the car
The inspection at the seller's takes 60 to 90 minutes: diagnostics, measurements, a chassis check and a test drive.
You get the report
The same day: findings with photos, estimated repair costs and an overall assessment of the car's condition.
Every finding, in black and white.
The report shows what condition the car is in, what needs fixing and what it will cost.

Electronics
We read every control unit, not just the engine's, and compare the mileage stored in different modules. A mismatch reveals a rolled-back odometer.
-

Paint and body
We measure the paint thickness on every panel. Deviations show which parts have been repaired or repainted.
-

Chassis and tyres
Suspension, brakes, tyres and rust. We also use a camera to check hard-to-reach places.
-

Engine, exhaust and battery
Thermal imaging, a battery and charging test, and live data monitoring on the test drive. On diesels we also check the particulate filter, EGR and AdBlue.

Overall assessment
Every finding comes with an estimated repair cost. The report ends with an overall assessment of the car's condition.
A garage makes money from repairs. We don't. So we can also tell you when a repair isn't needed.
We don't sell parts or carry out repairs. Our assessment is based solely on the car's condition.
We inspect the car where it stands.
For a standard pre-purchase inspection, you have to take the car to a centre during working hours. We carry out the inspection at the seller's, including evenings and Saturdays.

Does this diesel still have its particulate filter?
Imported diesels often have the particulate filter, EGR or AdBlue removed or switched off in software. A basic fault code reader won't show this.
The EU is preparing stricter emissions testing at technical inspections. Restoring a car to factory condition usually costs €1,000 to €2,500. Better to find out before you buy.
+€33 with the inspection or €50 on its own
- Engine softwareWe compare the software version in the control unit with the factory version.
- Filter pressure while drivingWith a working filter it changes with engine load. With the filter removed it stays almost flat.
- Regenerations and AdBlueRegeneration history, AdBlue consumption and measured nitrogen oxide emissions.
- Physical signsWelded seams, missing sensors, a camera inspection and thermal imaging of the housing.
Clear prices, known up front.
Inspections have a fixed price. Diagnostics are charged by the time spent.
Inspection at the seller's, 60 to 90 minutes, with a written report. For diesels, an extra EGR, AdBlue and DPF check (+€33).
We check the listing and the VIN: recalls, known faults of the model and how the price compares with the market.
When a warning light is on or a garage suggests an expensive repair: what's actually wrong and what it should realistically cost.
Travel within Gorenjska and Ljubljana is included in the price.

Can't find an answer? Call or write to us.
Is this an official technical inspection?
No. It's an independent inspection and written assessment of the car's condition before you buy. The official technical inspection (tehnični pregled) is carried out by authorised testing stations.
What if the seller won't allow an inspection?
We arrange the time with the seller in advance, so this rarely happens. If a seller refuses an inspection, that tells you something too.
How long does the inspection take?
60 to 90 minutes, depending on the car. You get the report by email the same day.
Do you also repair the car after the inspection?
No. We tell you what needs fixing and roughly what it will cost. You can have the repair done at a garage of your choice.
What does the inspection not include?
We don't take parts apart or put the car on a lift. The inspection is visual and electronic, with no work done on the car. Anything that couldn't be checked is clearly stated in the report.
Do you inspect electric and hybrid cars too?
Yes. The body, chassis and electronics are inspected the same way as on other cars. A certified high-voltage battery health test will be available soon.
Which areas do you cover?
Throughout Gorenjska (Upper Carniola) and in Ljubljana and the surrounding area, with travel included in the price. Inspections elsewhere in Slovenia can be arranged.
